Crock-Pot Gumbo
Crock-Pot recipes are the best! After a busy day of work, it's awesome to come home to a house that smells yummy. Plus, you put everything in a pot and then just walk away. We all need simple, easy, but delicious recipes to add to our cookbooks! This one is by far my favorite crock-pot recipe. I hope you enjoy it!
Ingredients:
1 pound of chicken
Spicy Cajun Connecuh sausage
1 pound bag of frozen okra chopped
28oz can of diced tomatoes (with liquid)
1 white onion chopped
1 quart of chicken broth
1 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 tbsp of spicy Cajun seasoning
1tsp dried thyme
1/2 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper
2 cups of white rice
French bread loaf
Directions:
Put all of your ingredients in a crock-pot.
Cook for 4 hours or until all ingredients have had enough time to cook through.
Once the chicken has cooked through, shred all of the chicken.
During th- last 30 minutes of cooking, start making your white rice and french bread.
Once your rice is done cooking, add to the bottom of a bowl and serve your completed gumbo over rice. Serve with toasted bread on the side.
